The International Veterinary Students' Association (IVSA) is a student-run organization representing over 38.000 students from over seventy countries. Our Association strives to benefit the animals and humans of the world by harnessing the potential and dedication of veterinary students to promote the international application of veterinary skills, education, and knowledge. Hereby, one of its main goals is to raise the overall standard of veterinary education worldwide.

We would love to invite you to be a part of our Association.

Being involved with IVSA is an outstanding way to help our members to gain knowledge, network with other students worldwide, and advance their professional careers. Members engaged in an official role within IVSA gain essential leadership skills that allow them to initiate change and become qualified health professionals.

IVSA is your voice in international veterinary medicine organizations. We are invited to discussions and meetings to represent the opinion of veterinary students on a global level, for example, during congresses from different partner organizations of IVSA, like WVA (World Veterinary Association), EAEVE, WOAH, WSAVA, and many more.

Our Committees and Networks thrive on bringing opportunities and conducting projects surrounding the various aspects of veterinary medicine and creating an avenue for persons who share a similar passion for a particular topic. The Committees and Networks create projects and provide resources for our members to participate in, allowing them to gain knowledge in many different areas of Veterinary Medicine.

The Committees and Networks we currently have, and you can be involved in their work, are

  • Standing Committee on Veterinary Education
  • Standing Committee on Animal Welfare
  • Standing Committee on One Health
  • Standing Committee on Wellness
  • Standing Committee on Career Attributes
  • Wild and Exotics Animal Network
  • Equine Network
  • Alumni Network

IVSA Members get the chance to participate in our exchange program, which allows our members to do individual or group exchanges at veterinary faculties in other IVSA units. Our members have the opportunity to meet veterinary students from all over the world at the annual Congress and Symposium. These events include General Assemblies, workshops, lectures, sightseeing, cultural and social activities. Besides this, your country will be able to host or attend international events that will allow you to see how veterinary medicine is practiced around the globe and how to improve the education level in the veterinary medicine field.

To inform you about all opportunities IVSA gives you, you will receive a monthly newsletter from our Member Organization Director (MOD).

If you are not a member and is interested in joining IVSA, or want to gather more information. Don't hesitate to get in touch with us at the Contact Us Section.
