Position Papers
Position papers serve as a rationale for the opinions or positions endorsed by IVSA. They encompass a thorough background and a compelling argument to support the stance and policy recommendations. A position paper is expected to address a contemporary issue, present examples of practical solutions, and discuss the advantages and drawbacks of implementing its suggestions. Furthermore, actionability is a crucial element that must be incorporated into all position papers. Typically, these papers tackle substantial topics aligned with IVSA's priorities and involve significant effort.

Policy Statements
Policy statements are concise guiding documents that take a firm position on a specific issue. While they include a background section to provide context and highlight the issue's significance, they do not offer detailed recommendations; instead, they express agreement or disagreement with existing situations, norms, or positions held by other organisations. Policy statements are valuable tools for swiftly establishing organisational consensus on an issue or drawing attention to a particular perspective. They are more centred on values and less on argumentation and policy analysis.
